1992 Geo Metro Four Door Sedan review from North America
"Reliable and cheap to buy and run"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Door and light chimes only work sometimes.
Door locks freeze in winter and one is now seized.
Dome light flickers while driving.
Tires are very hard to find as are most replacement parts. It's as if they were never made.
Rust is showing under door and near GEO symbol on the hood.
General comments?
This is a great car for around town, and my model - 4 cylnder, sedan - is even great on the highway. She shudders at 100-110 kph, but it's smooth sailing after that to 145 kph comfortably.
Cab is fairly comfortable and seat 4 adults for short trips. Rear seats fold down for more cargo space so trunk room hasn't been a problem. Can't fit a deep two drawer legal filing cabinet in the car no matter how you turn it!
What this car give in economy for every day driving, it has taken in inconvieniance and cost for 'hard to find' and 'discontinued' parts.
