1990 Geo Prizm 1.6 L from North America

Summary:

This is a terrific car at a bargain price

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car since we have owned it, except the headliner which is starting to sag.

Regular maintenance can easily be done by DIY. Since nothing breaks, repair costs are a minimum.

General Comments:

This is my wife's car and she truly loves it. The car sits outside all year here in Wisconsin and it always starts and runs smoothly for her. Handling is precise and nimble and goes through the snow with ease. Reliability and ease of use rate very high with her.

After 11 years it's still tight with no rattles or creaks.

I find the comfort, practicality and cost of ownership of the car make it a very good vehicle for urban use. A high percentage of my neighbors have this model or its sister, the Toyota Corolla, and are logging upwards of 300,000 miles of trouble-free driving. I am very glad I bought this car.

1990 Geo Prizm LSi 1.6 L from North America

Summary:

A car for the college student

Faults:

No power shifting, no ABS, handling is a little sorry, bad gear ratios! Nuff said!

Needs Proformance parts!!! If GM/Toyota are listening!

General Comments:

Great little ride, I shaved all its signs off, clear the corners, did a little exhaust work, now it's a racing machine, but I wish GM/Toyota made some parts for this vehicle, a la turbo?!

Hey, my name is Chris and I have a turbo set up in my Geo. I had to custom fabricate a few things, like the header, charge pipe, down pipe, air filter, and exhaust. The up side is that a Garret t25 turbo fits in quite nicely, and if you wanted I could build a header and the rest of the goodies for you. Email me if you're interested at chris_7teen@hotmail.com.

1990 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8 from North America

Summary:

This car is awesome :)

Faults:

Stalling.

General Comments:

This is an awesome car, mainly for the fact I got it for free from my sister.

My car is a 1990 Geo Prizm Hatchback, and it beats a Honda Civic Hatchback. This car flies and has a lot of power.

1990 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8 from North America

Summary:

Doesn't wear out!!

Faults:

CV axles went out from the front wheels.

Engine starting to use a tiny bit of oil.

Oil pan gasket leaking some.

Transmission slowly starting to slip worse and worse.

General Comments:

Great car, runs damn good. Never thought I would have this car this long, I was basically forced to buy the car from my sister so it wouldn't be repossessed. Turns out to be a great deal and when this one bites the dust I will look at another Prizm/Corolla. I prefer the Prizm though because everyone has a Corolla it seems.

1990 Geo Prizm Base 1.6 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Best deal b/w Toyota and Chevrolet!!

Faults:

Nothing major has broken on this car. Starter, radiator and CV joints (dunno why) were replaced. It's never left me stranded! Headliner is also falling.

General Comments:

It is a great car. I'd love to find a model of 1994 or 1995, but this one is still almost like it's new. Both my sister and I have wrecked it, still looks and runs great!

General Comments:

Just a great all around car. Never left me stranded. A much better car than the Excel that I had before.

Faults:

CV joints at 160,000.

General Comments:

This car is great, as soon as this one passes I plan to buy a new one but that might be a while considering this one has 258,000 miles and is still running like new!
