1994 Geo Prizm 1.8 from North America

Faults:

Nothing really except there is a major problem with these thing's alternators! I have been through like 4 already and have talked to other Prizm owners and that seems to be their only problem.

General Comments:

Great car if they could get the alternators fixed..

1994 Geo Prizm 1.6 from North America

Summary:

Good looks, great price, what could be better

Faults:

The clutch went out (my own fault), otherwise this car still runs like a dream.

General Comments:

My first car and I wanted a rice rocket, but I bought a 4 door echo car instead. I love this car, it's been driven like the Dukes of Hazard and keeps on running (knock on wood).

Just change the oil and the filters when necessary and this baby will run for ever.

My friend's just passed 200,000 and I hope to have mine reach that too.

1994 Geo Prizm LSi from North America

Summary:

Reliable ole' Jalopy

Faults:

Battery went dead.

Replaced all four tires.

Flushed radiator, etc... (general maintainence though).

Squeally brakes.

General Comments:

This car was built to last.

Despite the dead battery, and the tires, I never really had any major problems with this car.

Unfortunately, it doesn't deliver the "driving excitement" for me.

But if you're looking for a great deal, this car is very reliable and has a reasonably low cost of maintenance compared to others.

I drive a 1994 Geo Prism LSi (1.8 L) and I love it. It is great on gas... especially with current prices and handles well. No problem getting it up to 80... surprisingly did 100 in my car without it pushing its self at all. Getting the oil changes at 3,000 miles I am sure helps, which I do. I noticed the K&N oil filter gives a few more miles to the gallon and has actually increased my horsepower from 115 to 125. Not bad at all. This is the Corolla I know, and it is nice to get quality under a cheaper price for it being a Chevy body style. No complaints at all... except my brakes squeak, and I don't know why... the brakes are good and newer and I do have brake fluid. I wish I knew of how to fix it.

1994 Geo Prizm Sedan 1.6 liter I-line 4 cyl. from North America

Summary:

A multi-faceted, dependable, peppy little family car

Faults:

The plastic under-body/fender well piece broke loose on the right front of the car due to high winds and speed (I fixed it on the spot).

General Comments:

Excellent Winter car!! I owned this car for 3 years in Anchorage, AK. There were many times that I was caught in snow storms, or ice rain and my little Prizm just kept on going when many people went into the ditch!! She's a pearl in traffic as well. Overall, this is the best car for the money that I have had the pleasure of owning.

1994 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8 from North America

Faults:

Needed new battery; new brakes; one of screws on driver side door loosens causing an annoying creaking sound.

General Comments:

This has been an extremely reliable car. Overall the 78,000 miles have been very smooth and enjoyable. We bought a second Prizm Lsi in 1997.
