This is not a prizm, you drive a metro... the prizm didn't have a hatchback in 1996 and it either 100 or 105 hp.

Guess somebody mixed up their Geos. I can't get mixing up Metro hatchback and Prizm. Metro sedan and Prizm, maybe, as my dad said of Metro sedan "Looks like a baby Prizm."

1996 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8 from North America

Summary:

A wonderful commuter car that just won't quit

Faults:

I have had virtually no problems with this car.

Other than normal maintenance I haven't had to do anything to this car.

General Comments:

This is our work commute car. It has plenty of power while getting fantastic gas mileage.

The engine is silky smooth.

The transmission still shifts firm and perfectly every time.

The quality of this car is as good as it gets at any price.

The a/c works flawlessly and is ICE cold.

The only complaint I have is the limited legroom. I wish the drives seat went back further.

This car drives like it is still new.

1996 Geo Prizm 1.6L from North America

Summary:

The Prizm is reliable and cheap to drive

Faults:

Driver side seat belt broke at about 120000 miles.

A/C went out at about 120000, but I repaired it ($600+). It was not the whole compressor that died though, just some electrical part.

(Stock) Radio speakers have all blown.

Standard maintenance (Oil, tires, brakes, tune up <-- 1st tune up was at 125000 miles!).

The exterior paint is flaking off all over the car. However I live in sunny south Florida, so the sun may have something to do with it?

General Comments:

This car is awesome. I have over 135K miles and its just getting broken in! This car starts everyday, has no transmission problems and overall is a great car. She purrs like a kitten. I get good gas mileage (about 26 MPG). I would buy another Prizm again in a heart beat. Nothing has broke on this car with the exception of the seat belt and an A/C part.

1996 Geo Prizm LE from North America

Summary:

An exceptional car. I would buy 3 more

Faults:

Had to replace the starter at 78000 miles, guzzles oil like water, now in the shop for distributor at 138000 miles.

General Comments:

Besides burning quite a bit of oil, this car is a dream.

It has taken me on numerous road trips that extend over 1000 miles twice a month and has been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Great gas mileage, almost no maintenance costs along with a price tag that cannot be beat.

Been in a few fender benders where bumpers and doors should have fallen off The exterior held up beautifully.

Been parked in the sun every day since I've owned it and the paint looks like brand new.

1996 Geo Prizm LSi from North America

Summary:

A great and reliable car at a fair price

Faults:

The radio knobs and the heater control dial has fallen off and had to be replaced several times.

General Comments:

This is the best car I have ever owned. It drives well and is so reliable. The only thing I don't like is that a few months after buying it I realized it had no rear defrost.
