1995 Geo Tracker Base review from North America
"A good basic SUV"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Cross member of frame rusted out at 48000 miles. Dealer wanted over $1000 to fix it, I found an independent mechanic who repaired it for $200. I decided to sell it before anything else rusted out.
If it was below freezing outside, you had to hold the transfer case lever in 4WD Low, otherwise it would pop out of gear. 2WD and 4WD High were OK.
General comments?
This car was the last of the two door hardtop models. Only the front seats were comfortable for adults, the rear seats are only suitable for kids.
Although it was a nuisance to get out to lock and unlock the manual hubs, they never gave me any trouble the whole time I had the car.
If it were not for the rust problem, I would probably still own this car.
