None; knock on wood.
A very good car.
I get 6.5L/100 km on the highway, and 7.8L/100 km in city driving. The oil change system will save you money. I got 12000 km before it came to 20% of oil life, and it would take another 2-4000 before coming to 10% (the recommended oil change interval).
Of course it is small car, and you can't get big comfort in this space, but overall it's a great car. I traveled a couple of weeks ago from Toronto to Calgary (3500 km), and it didn't feel bad to sit in for 8-10 hours a day. For example, I did the same trip in my second Nissan X-terra, and it was terrible compared with the Civic.
Only one downside (for rural areas) - very low ground clearance.
And the steering is very sensitive; you have to give yourself a couple of weeks to adjust your habits (after driving an American car).
Civics have always been a great car choice for Canadians and the current model is no exception. I, however, would not buy the current Civic for one simple reason: the two-tiered dash layout and the interior design generally. Whereas previous Civics had functional no-nonsense high-quality (though perhaps boring) interior designs, the latest model has departed from this principle in a way that is off-putting to me personally. As such, I would put my money on the new Corolla. Otherwise, the Civic is a fantastic car.
