2000 Honda Odyssey LX review from North America
"The all around best minivan"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
EGR system clogged.
Transmission broke at 92,000 miles.
Clock light burned out, but replaced for $3.
General comments?
This minivan drives and handles like a competent car. The turning radius in amazingly small for a long wheelbase vehicle, thus is is fairly easy to park. Emergency handling and braking is excellent. Power is more than adequate.
Fuel economy is surprisingly good for such a roomy vehicle. I measure about 25 mpg on interstate trips and 20 mpg around town.
Road noise is intrusive on rougher highways and can be annoying on long trips. I understand newer Odysseys are quieter.
Seating, roominess and ease of re-configuring are all excellent. There is plenty of room behind the 3rd seat.
