2001 Hyundai Elantra review from North America

Check engine light came on 3 days after driving it.

Thermostat replaced after two months of going in and out of the shop for the check engine light.

Fume leak (check engine light again)

Radiator replaced after over heating 8 months of owning this car.

Leak in the AC unit.

I am financing a 2001 Hyundai Elantra that I got in January of 2006 (used). After about 3 days of me driving it the check engine light came on. After taking it to the place I was financing my Hyundai they found that the thermostat sensor was going out. Replaced it then a few days later the light came back on. After about 2 months of going in and out of the shop for the same problem I was told that after the engine warmed up that the thermostat was reading cold by about -500 degrees F. they replaced the thermostat one day before it for inspection. It passed. The next day the check engine light came back on. I was told it was a gas fume leak some where from the gas cap to the engine. After about 2 more months of them doing nothing more the checking the check engine codes I gave up going back over this issue. The light still comes on randomly once ever two or three weeks stays on for about 3 days before it goes off again. This is only one of many problems I have been having with my Elantra. I had the radiator recently blow up giving it a large crack. The car did not start running hot until right after the radiator got over heated. After replacing the radiator I have found a major leak in one of the AC lines. This is the next thing that is about to be fixed. Wonder what is next?
