1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 from North America

Summary:

Excellent all around practical SUV

Faults:

The drivers door hinge started to stick at 90k miles and had to be replaced. The part was $10 but the labor was expensive because the door had to be completely removed.

Rear-view mirror fell off at 85k miles, super glue fixed it just fine.

Had to replace tires and battery at 95k miles.

General Comments:

I highly recommend the Jeep Cherokee Sport. It's a great running car, always starts in the winter and the 4wd is excellent in the snow.

The original clutch has almost 111k Miles so I can't complain.

My only complaint would be the back seat, it's hard to get in and out of and there isn't much leg room.

1995 Jeep Cherokee SE Limited 4.0 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A boss off roader

Faults:

Outside temperature gauge is faulty.

Leather seats are starting to lose their colour, but no rips or tears.

General Comments:

I have just recently bought this car and I am really pleased with it.

It has just had a gas conversion so the fuel consumption is still the same High!but price of gas offsets this.

Not too surprised at the power with the 4.0 litre engine provides loads.

Gas conversion work a dream and very reliable.

No problems as of yet touch wood.

First 4X4 so fingers crossed for the future.

1995 Jeep Cherokee Country 4D 4WD Inline 6 cylinder 4.0L High Output from North America

Summary:

Features like a Grand Cherokee, Durability of a Cherokee Sport!

Faults:

Steering wheel squeaks when you turn it.

Extra Key-less entry transmitter costs $115.00!

General Comments:

I bought this Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from a used car lot. First thing that caught my eye was the beautiful exterior (Dark green with a lot of chrome and tan trim) I had to see.

120,000 miles is a turn off, but the test drive told me differently! It shifted into and out of 4WD (four wheel drive) smoothly and easily at any speed. The low 4WD is very effective when you need to descend down hills that are covered in snow and/or ice. This car gives confidence to anyone driving it. Confidence to go off the asphalt or go to work on the snowy day.

The engine is extremely responsive at almost 200 Horse Power and the whole car weighs under a ton and a half. This car has great acceleration!

I love this car! When I wrecked my 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport I wanted nothing else, but a Jeep Cherokee. I won't own anything less than a Jeep!

This jeep was stolen 3 months after I had it... since then found, but belongs to the police impound lot. I was paid in full by the insurance company luckily.

Well I just bought my first Jeep; a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country today, it's a bright fire engine red color with a silverish color around the bottom, and it looks GREAT for its age.

So far from what I have read, my future upgrades will be: a 3 core radiator, new thermostat, airaid throttle body spacer, K&N intake, a tune up, a newer CD player (the one in it is a temperamental after market one), and emergency lights for fire department use. IF I want to put a small lift on it and a little bigger tire, should I put a trans cooler on it? (it's a auto) I plan on putting a 3 core radiator on it LONG before I do anything like a lift and tires.

1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 from North America

Summary:

Jeep screwed up when they quit making these classics

Faults:

Electric cooling fan replaced several times under the warranty before getting a good one.

A/C compressor replaced under warranty. Water pump, thermostat and belt replaced at 45000 and 125000.

O2 sensor replaced at 45000. Steering wheel replaced at 25000.

General Comments:

Other than warranty items and general maintenance, this car has been great.

It continues to look great both inside and out.

4x4 has never failed.

Tow a 22 foot boat at least once a month and several trips to the Keys in the summer. Yes, it knows it is back there, but no problems.

I plan on keeping this car for 200-250 k miles and then I'll get a Grand Cherokee V8.

The Jeep has registered a trouble code when the check engine light is illuminated. Have a mechanic read the code if you don't know how to do this. It might simply be a bad EGR valve or leaking gasket.

Sounds like a clogged CVC valve.

I own 1995 jeep Cherokee, my check engine light has been on for about 2 years. It also will start running ruff for a couple of seconds and then run fine for few days. The only difference is that my Cherokee will start acting funny while I am driving down the highway with the cruse control on. I does not make since. I have brought it to a hand full of mechanics, but none of the have a solution.
