2005 Mazda 6 Sport Sedan 4-cylinder from North America

Summary:

My Mazda6 = Happiness :)

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car thus far; I have had it for nearly 3 months :)

General Comments:

Oh my goodness, I love my car! I love the way it looks and I love the way it handles.

Pros:

This car is so beautiful! It looks great in every color and is so much fun to drive! Every time someone sees my car, they offer a compliment.

Even at 84,000+ miles, I have never been worried about whether or not my car would start; I have found it to be very reliable. My dad owns a Mazda MPV and we have never had any issues with it, so I was thrilled to get my own Mazda!

I like that the A/C and heat don't take a long time to kick in; it makes for much more pleasant trips.

Additionally, I have noticed that as I accelerate, the volume on the stereo goes up. That's fantastic because I don't have to constantly adjust my volume and settings.

I love having steering wheel control options; I only wish that there was a power button on the steering wheel to turn the radio on and off.

Cons at this point:

The fabric on the seats is not as soft as I had hoped--I'm not sure if it's the cleaning agent they used before I purchased the vehicle or if the seats are simply not that soft. But they are very supportive!

Sometimes the A/C whines, but it is not a consistent, irritating sound; it happens every so often. Also, the vents are hard to direct.

The CD player skips or stops when I hit bumps or holes in the road.

The location of the trunk release is inconvenient; I wish it were on the floor, closer to the gas cap release.

I have tracked my gas consumption at every fill-up since I purchased the car and have consistently gotten from 21-23 mpg, which is just okay. I wish it were a little better. It's a good thing gas prices are going down!

Finally, my car did not come with a remote, so it would be nice to be able unlock the door from the passenger side as well as the driver side.

2005 Mazda 6 GT 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

Best midsize sport sedan

Faults:

Cloth gets dirty; I have leather interior, however the sun visors are cloth and it shows the dirt.

**update**

5,000 miles later and i still love the car. I cant wait to test it out in the snow.

General Comments:

This car is amazing!

Anyone looking for a mid-size sedan should be buying a Mazda 6. The GT V6 6 speed is a little more expensive, but with all the goodies it's worth it! Better than Audi, BMW, Acura and others.

2005 Mazda 6 S-Grand Touring 3.0 from North America

Summary:

FRAGILE

Faults:

Blew a cam tower bearing at 9k miles.

Fog light burned out at 10k miles.

Air conditioner blew hot/cold in summer.

4 speakers replaced.

Dashboard rattled.

General Comments:

What a pity. I dumped this car with only 15k miles. Being a 6S with the Grand Sport Appearance package, it was no doubt strikingly beautiful and had all the bells and whistles (it better have at $28k).

Unfortunately, with half the warranty gone and all of the repairs done to it, out it went for another vehicle (you know the one with 10/100k). I just couldn't see getting buried in this car once the warranty expired.

What is sadder yet is that a car that originally listed for 28k was after only 20 months fetching between 13-14k for trade in - it didn't matter how few miles or how spotless it was. Maybe these car dealerships know something we consumers just don't - these cars aren't a good risk once they leave the new car lot.

I have had the same problem with my Mazda, but I have an additional complaint. My car has pulled to the left since I took it out of the show room. I have had in the shop for this problem 6 times and all they do is perform an alignment. It is ruining my tires and they will not replace them. Also, my car alarm would go off randomly for the first month of my ownership. I want my money back!!
