1995 Nissan Maxima SE VQ30DE from North America

Summary:

One great 4dr sports car that really can cruise

Faults:

One alternator at 212k miles, found that it was stock.

Three power window switches AP. Cost total $390.00.

Two front shocks, also stock.

General Comments:

I love this car and it loves me.

The trans seems like 2 mode logic.

The body rolls but, it will stay put.

With VQ power, a few speeding tickets will follow.

All I've got is a K&N air filter, and that is it.

My car is a 4 of 1994, but first body 1995, and it is still strong.

1995 Nissan Maxima GLS from North America

Summary:

My Maxima has been a great car, overall

Faults:

My 1995 Maxima has been a dream car... until recently (I am the original owner). Now, it starts flawlessly for approximately 9 times in a row, then on the 10th attempt, will turn over but not "catch" and start running until you turn the key maybe a dozen times. This is very frustrating - my mechanic cannot seem to find the problem. He says every time he starts it, it starts flawlessly. This car has been maintenanced on schedule and I've had nothing but praise for it - it still runs like new. Any suggestions on what my recent problem might be?

General Comments:

For those who have had problems with the starter - I also had problems with mine while it was still under warranty, and it did have to be replaced. I was told there was a recall on the starter in the 95 Maxima. The dealership replaced it at no cost and it has not given me a problem since.

1995 Nissan Maxima GXE 3.0 VQ6 from North America

Summary:

Awesome Family Sedan for the money, can be expensive to repair (when you get problems)!

Faults:

Had to change the O2 sensors a couple of times.

The shocks seem to get worn out pretty quickly, but the car is still drivable.

Currently I am experiencing jerks when accelerating and times when the car just shuts off. It has been happening for roughly a year, and happens quite frequent. Have taken in it in twice to the dealer and replaced two parts (cannot remember what I replaced) but the problem is still persisting. In the shop currently to fix same problem, if it doesn't work I will have to get rid of it (SADLY!!).

General Comments:

The car is very responsive, and you feel the power even when cruising at 100+ km/h, and decide to pass. * (Try getting a 5 speed manual, even more responsive).

Reliable engine, and great fuel efficiency for the size of the car. Costs me roughly 50-55 CAD to fill tank at $1.02/liter, and that will last me roughly 500 to 525 km in the city, and just above 600 to 625 km on the highway.

Even the base model comes loaded with the usual necessities. Wish I had gotten the BOSE sound system.

Great car for families with youngsters and teens (Good luck trying to keep the teen from driving!).

Might actually look for a newer model with low kilometers and continue with the Maxima heritage.

1995 Nissan Maxima s 3.0 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Great, but a bit long in the tooth now

Faults:

I get it serviced every 6 months and only small things get replaced like cv boots and brake pads.

This thing just keeps going as long as you service it!!!

General Comments:

It's a great car with heaps of power when needed. If you are heavy on the pedal it will be heavy on the wallet.

Good reliable car!!
