1995 Nissan Maxima SE 3.0L V6 from North America

Summary:

HIGHLY recommend!

Faults:

Trunk is rusting really bad around the rear spoiler.

Factory keyless remotes are temper-mental (even with new batteries)

Occasionally the factory BOSE CD player doesn't like working; radio still does though.

Steering wheel leather is tearing.

Regular maintenance and timing chain (as preventative maintenance)

General Comments:

Amazing car. I bought this car after it was imported from Illinois in 2001 from it's original owner. Hence the odometer reading will be miles.

It still runs amazingly strong. It has lots of extra power in any situation. And for a "family sedan" it handles very well too; a lot better then my 98 Cadillac Catera did anyways.

I don't know what Nissan did, but do they know how to make a fast car. I can cruiue at 85MPH and just punch it down and it shoots right off and before I know I'm past 100. I have gotten way too many speeding tickets with this car.

I've been tempted to take my car to a track and actually see it's numbers, but I never have the time. In the 5 years or so I've owned it I've put about 106,000MILES = 170 (ish),000 kilometers. I love my Maxima and I plan on having the body redone on it because I'm more than sure I'll get another 4-6 years out of her with no problem.

If you want a sports car, with room for a family and the budget price of a high end domestic car, Maxima is your car.

1995 Nissan Maxima SE 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

There when you need it!!!

Faults:

Fog light fell out

Left 02 sensor

Left CV shaft

Starter

Air bag light ($2700)

Canister evap control purge valve

ABS sensor

Brake light (fluid was low)

Knock sensor (still not fixed, but who cares, it just listens for engine noise)

Preventative Maintenance:

4 Raybestos struts

4 To-yo tires

1 tune up (Bosch Platinum plugs)

Brakes (all around)

Oil changes

Replaced Bose system with a Kenwood.

General Comments:

The most stressful and expensive problem with this car has been the air bag situation. The whole system had to be replaced. Besides that, mostly everything else has been an easy fix.

This car is 11 years old and a joy to drive. I get many compliments on how smooth and quiet the engine is.

I have never been left stranded, even when various idiot lights are on, the car still performs. The outside is starting to show its age a little in terms of scratches and dings. I just try to make sure it's washed and waxed every weekend. No biggie.

1995 Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 gasoline from Poland

Summary:

American luxury and Japanese quality, can be anything better?

Faults:

I had to replace thermostat and rear shocks, just after purchasing the car. No problems since then.

General Comments:

It's a real joy to press the accelerator on motorway, very few can compare with it.

Since my car was imported from Canada, it has symmetric headlights. Does anybody know where can I purchase European (asymmetric) ones fitting this model?

1995 Nissan Maxima SE 3.0 DOHC 24v from North America

Summary:

Awesome!

Faults:

Coil packs and spark plugs @ 230000.

General Comments:

I purchased the car from a friend that purchased it with 80000 miles on it. And she kept up with regular maintenance religiously. The car still has its original clutch in it with 236000 miles on it (WOW). The car is very solid and very reliable. I drives and rides like it has less than 100000 miles on it. I am very pleased with the car and I am sure it will go well over 300000 with just replacing the normal wear items. Love those Maxima's.
