2004 Peugeot 206 1.4 SE review from UK and Ireland
"Uninteresting to drive, but a decent enough car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Trim creaks and rattles
Erratic idle.
General comments?
Cheap functional small car which does what it says on the tin.
Looks good, but not very interesting to drive especially by Peugeot standards. Lacks the fun handling of Peugeot's earlier models and the steering lacks feel.
Same dodgy build quality that small Peugeots have always had. Basic reliability is okay though.
Engine gutless and coarse, but economical (rarely returns less than 40 mpg even driven hard)
Weird driving position which can be "adjusted out" given about 10 minutes of painstaking fiddling. Worth doing, as the car has very good seats which are comfy on a run.
Would have another at the right price, but there are now far better small cars out there. The 206 is still a good looker though.
