Comfy, but too many faults for such a modern car.

2002 Peugeot 307 D-Turbo 3dr review from UK and Ireland

"A fully loaded great drive"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

So far so good! As yet there are no indications of any mechanical or electrical problems.

The only minor problem is with the passenger seat - it does not tilt forward to let the rear passengers in when you use the top lever. The dealer insists this is a simple fix.

The original build quality problems that were manifest in the earlier models appear to have been ironed out, however only time will tell.

General comments?

The car is great to drive, it may not have the same performance as the Golf PD130 but it more than makes up for this on price and features. Torque at lower speeds in 2nd and 3rd gears is high and delivers considerably more power and acceleration than my old 2 litre Rover 600.

The interior is well equipped and well designed. The black and aluminium finish is quite striking. All the controls are well positioned making use of the stereo and digital climate easy.

Externally the car looks great from all angles, and it certainly has the edge over the rather dated looking Golf (the only rival in its class in my opinion).

This is a great package. The high level of specification (which includes cruise control on this later 2002 model) is ideal for those people who like their toys. Its also a real drivers car and people who like to drive actively, making full use of the gears and torque from the Hdi engine, will not be disappointed.
