1996 Plymouth Breeze 2.0 from North America

Faults:

Head gasket replaced by dealer at 27,000. Didn't inform me.

Steering wheel is badly worn at top.

Bad design of emergency brake location, directly over center console. Hard to access center console.

No elbow rest between seats.

Bad headlights-very dim.

A/C pump bad. Dealer replaced it ONLY after several trips to dealer to diagnose.

Hissing noise from steering column when turning right. Dealer fixed it.

BAD oil leak now. It's either the oil sender unit or the head gasket. Dealer will NOT assist due to high mileage, even though car was in for oil consumption problem while still under warranty, but they couldn't/wouldn't fix it.

This could be a good car except for dealers lack of support in repairs. I will NOT buy another Chrysler product, EVER.

General Comments:

Oil leak problem is really a bad one and the dealer service relating to this problem is very bad. Dealer service in general is bad. Horrible communication.

1996 Plymouth Breeze 2.0 liter from North America

Summary:

Looks good, but not worth repair bills

Faults:

Head gasket blew at about 50000. I had to take it back to the dealer 4 times before it was fixed. Then 2 days later, I took it to another shop and had them fix everything that the dealer had not fixed.

My new problem is the oil leaks. This vehicle leaks everywhere. It is currently leaking around the cam sensor. I took it to the shop 2 days ago. They stated that it was just the seal. We replaced it, and guess what, it is still leaking. Now they say the whole sensor needs to be replaced. I have spent more money on repairs to this vehicle than what it cost for me to buy it.

The door seals do not work. Water leaks in all the time. The seat belts catch all the time and won't release.

If the air is on, the vehicle has NO power at all.

General Comments:

This is the worst vehicle I have ever had. I will never purchase a Chrysler vehicle ever again.

1996 Plymouth Breeze 4-cylinder from North America

Summary:

Nice car with low resale value

Faults:

Not too much has gone wrong so far. It leaks about 1 quart of oil a month.

It had a problem with the power steering, but it was fixed by the dealer in about 3 days, at a fair price.

Steering wheel is worn in most spots.

Driver's side back door seal came loose.

General Comments:

I really like the way this car looks and drives. I've only had it for 45,000 miles, but it has held up under my heavy foot and need for speed.

The problems I've had have been minor and cheap to fix.

I do wish the resale value was higher, as I need to get a new vehicle, and would like to trade my Breeze in.

1996 Plymouth Breeze from North America

Summary:

Not impressed

Faults:

Piston rod blew a hole through the engine.

Automatic door locks don't always work.

Steering wheel is worn in certain areas.

General Comments:

I purchased a used Plymouth Breeze three and a half months ago from a small dealership. Absolutely loved the colour. Ran great, but again, I've only had it for just over three months.

Yesterday the engine blew. Chrysler doesn't want to hear about it. Said I am the third owner (second owner being the dealership!!) Naturally the warranty is up. Definitely no "Good Will" warranty from these people. Saddens me to think I traded in my Pontiac Sunbird with over 250,000km for a Chrysler product that only lived for 124,000km. Lesson learned!

I purchased a 96 Breeze with 56,000kms on it. Bought it from the local Plymouth / Chrysler dealer in town. And it also blew up with low kilometers on it!!! (78,000kms to be exact!!!) And Chrysler did not want to listen to me. I paid for the repair, they didn't even offer a couple dollars!!! Overall, the car works really well... when its not blown up!!! I don't really know what to say about these companies products. All I have to say is its a shame that I traded a Chevy for this thing!!!
