1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE 4.3 Quad 4 from North America

Summary:

This is a great car for your money!!

Faults:

There has only been a few things gone wrong with the car in the time I have had it. It acted sluggish shortly after I got it.

I had to replace the alternator.

I had to replace the battery after not cranking the car for 2 weeks.

The timing chain broke after 128,000 miles and at the same time, the head was cracked and bent a valve.

General Comments:

This has generally been a great car. It has only had minor problems until now. About 2 weeks after I bought the car, it started acting funny. it would seem as if it was running out of gas while I was driving. After being at the dealer for a very long time they finally figured out I had trash in the injector. After flushing it out, the car ran great.

I have only had to replace breaks, the belt, the alternator, and the battery. the battery went bad after not cranking it for 2 weeks.

Another minor problem with the car is that the fuse that controls the door locks and the cigerette lighter kept blowing. Change from the change compartment would slide down into the cigerette lighter and short it out.

I have put 70,000 miles on this car in 2 1/2 years, and have not once changed the oil or kept up with any of the upkeep this car needed. This car was my only transportation and was driven a lot every day. For a car to be neglected the way it has been, it has really done well for me. Now, it needs some motor work because I have let it go for so long.

I definitely recommend this car. It is great on gas, and doesn't require a lot of upkeep. The car is very comfortable and roomy. It will hold 5 people with no squishing.

1995 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.1L SFI from North America

Summary:

I could not have asked for more out of a car!

Faults:

I have noticed that it overheats occasionally.

It does not like to get wet.

General Comments:

I have been driving this car for about 3 months now. I will say it is very sensitive when it comes to fluids. I believe that, yes, everyone has problems with this car, but if you take car of it, it will take car of you. I foresee no major problems to arise with this vehicle. I am currently looking for performance parts to accentuate the performance it is capable of. It is a great, technically, first car.

1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.1L V6 from North America

Summary:

A family car with a beast of an engine

Faults:

EGR Valve was replaced, free from the dealer.

Sometimes the driver side power window won't go up, so I have to wait for a bit to bring it up.

The fog lights didn't work, but I just had to replace the bulbs.

General Comments:

I love this car. It has some great power and sounds great when accelerating.

The engine light has come on a few times when at high speeds, but the dealership have gladly fixed any problems with the car, thanks to one of the salesmen who's friends with my dad.

The power windows and locks are great advantages. As well as the remote trunk release; no more locking my keys in the trunk again.

It's a powerful beast with great acceleration considering the Electronically Controlled Transmission it has.

The interiors red lights are very easy to see in the dark, and although it can get a little boring seeing red all the time, it's cool.

Ill be putting in a K&N Filter very soon so I hope it helps its performance and gas mileage.

It's just an awesome car.

1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.1 from North America

Summary:

Great car for the money!!

Faults:

After the first week of owning it the original motor blew up... apparently the intake bolts on the 3.1 need to be re-tightened every 6 months??? Anyway the dealer was kind enough to replace the motor with a "much lower mileage engine."

After that the water pump went out then the alternator. Since then... about two years ago... I haven't had to do any major repairs on this car... although it does seem to eat brake pads, and I do have a constant problem with the right rear brake hanging, this may be due to a bent hub assembly.

Overall I love this car. It looks great, it runs great, and it has been very reliable for me, after the afore mentioned problems were dealt with!!

What can you expect with a used car!!
