2002 Saturn VUE FWD from North America - Comments

"Love my VUE, but hate the problems!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My fuel pumps were replaces 8/2002.

My fuel sensor replaced 9/2002.

My front sway bars were replaced twice, 7/2003 and 4/19/2004. The Saturn dealer ship stated that the design allowed road grime to enter the sway bar links and "seize" the links. I don't think that they fixed the problem because I still hear the same loud noise. I took my VUE back for service, and now they say that the front driver's strut needs to be replaced (Out of Warranty).

I started to complain about a noise that I heard in reverse in June of 2002.

The service tech stated that he didn't hear a noise and told me that I didn't know how to drive stick. (I'm not sure if he just assumed since I was a woman I didn't know how to drive stick, but that did not make me happy!) After several return to a different dealership they finally decided that there was something wrong. They replaced a bushing.

The driver side windshield washer nozzle was replaced twice 1/2003 and 1/2004.

If I could get the servicers to quite getting grease on my seats, I'd be a happier Saturn owner. They have already replaced my seat once because they couldn't get the grease out.

General comments?

This is my first new car I've owned. I love the car, but hate the problems. I don't mind taking my car in for service, but I do mind when you have to take it in two to three times to get one thing fixed. And I hate having to fix the same problem twice.

Fuel pumps?...your car only has one fuel pump and also for that matter only one front sway bar.

HI, My girlfriend has a 2006 Vue, I have a 2007. We live on a dirt road, that is bumpy, but not bad. At 18,000+ her sway bar broke. I am just at 18,000, and mine broke today. Saturn covered hers under warranty, and I am assuming mine will get covered as well, but I am wondering if this is a problem or a design flaw. We are up a paved windy mountain road, that we drive fast, but not crazy fast. The bumpy dirt road we drive at a speed that smooths out the bumps, about 20mph. Any thoughts on our broken sway bars?

Accually the 02 vue has 2 fuel pumps I had one replaced in 05.

Also, you might want to have that VTi transmission checked out. They go bad and it is a major Saturn problem. I just had mine fixed for 4700.00 and no help from Saturn what so ever!!!
