1989 Toyota Corolla GT-S from North America - Comments

"It is fastest and best looking car that I have owned"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The seats have worn down badly.

Had to replace the O-ring underneath the distributer.

Cannot find any after-market performance parts anywhere, or any body-kits for that matter.

General comments?

I fell in love with it the first time I had the chance to drive it.

This car is really fast for a little four banger, and handles like a dream.

I will never get rid of this car even after the engine blows. When this happens I plan to do an engine swap, perhaps even a MR2 Spider engine upgrade.

I've seen a jupe kit in a catalog. But it was in a store in Quebec at Longueuil (marcado on boul. chambly). If you really want one, try to call. But you'll have to search for the phone number, I don't have it. Sorry...

This has been the only body kit I have been able to find for the 88-91 Toyota Corollas.

Aftermarket parts are fairly easy to find if you look on http://www.nopionline.com

They might not have everything, but it should get you up to about 50 more horsepower from stock with what they do have.

There's billions of aftermarket parts... your Corolla has the 4a-ge engine, which is also the same engine that came in the late 80's MR2 (and some came supercharged 4a-gze)... you can add a turbo/supercharger, or you can go N/aA... LOTS of parts... become a member of the toyotacorollaclub on yahoo... you'll find a lot on there.
