Exhaust manifold gasket replaced ($15 part, 1 hour of labour).
Leaky water pump, which doesn't NEED to be fixed if you keep the fluids topped up.
I've had this car for a lot of years and a lot of km's (bought it brand new). I've had virtually no problems. Great on gas. I would recommend this car to anyone.
This is really good to see. I have a 2000 VE myself and it hasn't ever given me any trouble yet (except a mysterious check engine light going on two days after a dealer's oil change, though the car still runs just fine). It's encouraging to read reviews that remind me of a pretty good vehicle choice. I hope my car, 64,700 miles, gets as far as yours with as little hassle.!
