2000 Volkswagen Beetle review from North America
"A very nice looking lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
"check engine" light keeps coming on at random. Dealer says they can't find anything wrong with it. It goes through tires like nothing I have ever seen. I just got 2 new front tires six months ago and they need replaced again. It makes a whining noise when I back up. Dealership says it may be an internal transmission problem, but they also tried to tell me that the warranty won't cover it because it's normal wear and tear.
General comments?
I hate this car and I swear I will never buy this or any Volkswagen product again in my life. I can't wait until I can trade this car in.
