2000 Volkswagen Beetle GLX review from North America
"Money pit"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have a 2000 Beetle.
Here's my wonderful experience with it:
Check engine light always on.
Dashboard lights always burn out when using my command start. Dealer fixed it twice. Still happens, therefore, I don't use my command start anymore. (Money wasted)
Paint coming off door handle (interior)
All the little plastic things falling off inside. (Eg: headrest push buttons, the console cover, automatic window controls.)
Costs a fortune just to change a light bulb, because after all, they made it so you can't do it yourself for a couple of bucks.
Cable line broke for automatic flip open.
Power windows on the fritz...twice.
Electrical problems abundant.
On and on it goes.
General comments?
Thankfully I'm selling my car.
Cute car for sure, brutal dealership, brutal car.
Dodge, here I come.
