Well for starters I bought this car in November and it was the car of my dreams I guess you could say (2001 Golf) not even a month after buying the thing the engine light went on we got it fixed and then about a week later it was on again we went back and they looked at it for free thank god. They could not find anything wrong with it so from now on I decided to ignore it which seems to actually be doing good considering its been a year now and nothing else has gone wrong, but what king of car do you buy for 20 grand or more that's a piece of crap. My brother bought a 2001 Jetta 1.8T and it has done nothing, but put a hole in his pocket my advice to anyone is VOLKSWAGONS SUCK they may look nice, but like they say never judge a book by its cover!
I totally agree with you. I STILL OEW 8000.on this POS and they are treating it like its 20 yr old car!! I bought this new and it has been the worse money decsion I have ever made. Who would have thought I would have to try to trade it in after 6 yrs 60000 miles! Transmission replaced, 5 recalls, engind light, gas gauge posessed.. crank shaft, catalyic converter, air bag light possesed.. the list goes on. 19000$ car sounds more like 9000. car to me.
I learned my lesson back in 1988.They are great cars when they are not in the shop.
