It may have required some minor transmission work at some point ... A quart of Lucas Trans treatment seems to have helped (about 1000 miles ago).

The car burns oil fairly heavy, (approx 1.5 quarts per 3,000 miles.) Recommend using Lucas oil to somewhat help this problem. ... I think that the automatic transmission needs another gear so it doesn't rev so high.
