Brakes and transmission work is way over priced and surprisingly, not a quality job or a quality part.

Issues with a serious propshaft whine & wobble - unknown possible transmission failure - still waiting to take it to the dealership until a complete tranny flush can be done ... For the price of the car used, it's a great deal, but beware of headaches and higher-than-normal bills when replacing/repairing it.

I own a 2003 S type 3.0 ... I have had my car in the Jag shop at least 4 times for the transmission snatching roughly ... So I really felt defeated and just accepted that this was part of owning a Jaguar

It's really sad to see all the comments about the Automatic Transmission on the 2002 X-type, My transmission went out 2months and 900 miles (50900) after the factory warranty expired, I have called Jaguar Customer Care and have not received any assistance in this matter

I have the same problem with my s type r - the car is immensely quick, but with the same thump in first gear - I've gotten Jaguar involved and they still have no answer - they have tried to reflash the software for the the transmission, but there is still a thump -I'm not quite sure what to do about it

My 2000 S Type Jaguar has had the "parking on incline problem", It took 3 times for me to figure out- don't park on an incline ... The transmission was doing some slipping before the 50,000 magic mileage date, now at 75,000 it is kaput
