1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport review from North America
"Chrysler turned the Cherokee into a crappy product"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The passenger-side window regulator failed at 40,000 miles.
Left front wheel bearing assembly replaced at 42,000 miles.
Left and right front bearings replaced at 59,000 miles.
Left front wheel bearing assembly needs to be replaced now.
Track arm had to be replaced at 59,000 miles.
Right rear door latch has stopped working. Dealer can't locate and fix problem.
General comments?
My previous vehicle was a 1988 2-wheel drive Jeep Cherokee that had 180,000 miles when it was traded in for current vehicle. That Cherokee was used for 6 years to tow and launch a 4,000 lb. boat. I wanted to upgrade to more comfort and power options. Big mistake.
Wheel bearings are an expensive replacement and they are sealed units that can't be serviced.
