2000 Audi A6 Avant review from UK and Ireland
"Quicker than a BMW M5, with ultimate luxury"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Exhaust needed repairing after excessive speed over a road hump.
Rear off side brake light needed repairing as an intermittent fault was detected.
CD changer kept skipping. Needed a new anti-shock mechanism installed.
General comments?
I have never not beaten a car off the lights with this beast. Only last week a BMW 530i pulled up and as the lights hit green, I kicked the 4.2 into action and left him for dust.
Looks can be deceiving, but then you notice the small 4.2 badge on the back and as I'm disappearing into the distance you realize why.
Tinted windows, and a great quiet leather interior give you a great ride. While wide Pireli tyres give this A6 Avant great road holding too. Took a tight corner at over 35mph and didn't even hear the wheels losing grip.
I couldn't have asked for a better car. And if you are going to get an estate and want to keep your credibility, then this is definitely the one for you.
