2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL 3.4 liter V6 from North America

Summary:

The car sucks

Faults:

Within two weeks after I bought the car, I had it back to the dealership to get the driver's front wheel bearing replaced.

Then about a month later, the carpet was soaked. Took it to the dealer, and heard my A/C was blocked up. They replaced it.

Then my brakes started to go. They were squealing so bad, so I took it back to the dealer. They replaced the brakes, and after I left the dealership, they were still squealing.

It finally it went away, but no more than three weeks later, my front passenger wheel bearing went.

They fixed it, then just my luck, the car would make a horrible sound from the front wheels. As I would be turning the wheel to the left, my ABS light would come on, along with AWD disabled, which takes out not only your ABS, but your AWD too.

I finally got tired of the dealership I bought from. I took it to the GM dealer. They replaced my hubs in the front, and came find out that my rear hatch latch was shot. They fixed it, but I drove off, and the problem was still there. I made another appointment, they finally fixed it after a week with no car. It was a speed sensor that was around 550$.

Now my driver's side window has a short.

All this within 4 months. Go figure.

General Comments:

It's very comfortable, but that's about it.

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL from North America

Summary:

Crap

Faults:

The engine literally blew up, was misfiring, white smoke coming out of hood and exhaust, what drama! Had it towed to the dealership, said the gasket cracked, oil leaked down into the engine, something else, cheaper to replace engine, 6K. this car is gorgeous to look at, but unless you know about engines, it's a crock. And of course, the warranty had just run out. It's a lemon.

I hope this owner realizes that many other people haven't had any significant problems with 2002 Rendezvous. We have 63,000 almost completely trouble free miles on one. I am angry at Buick for planning to replace this wonderful vehicle with another model.

Be aware that your experience is very, very unusual. Buick in general produces high quality, dependable automobiles.

Funny, virtually every review on this site about the Rendezvous is negative. Guess ALL those people are wrong, eh?

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL V6 from North America

Summary:

It should be called the Rendezpoo!!

Faults:

If you own one of these... SELL IT!!! We have dropped so much money into this vehicle. It's pathetic. We bought our Rendezvous thinking, it would be a great family vehicle, with the space and safety features. We have owned 12 year old Toyota Camry's/Corolla's with more than double the kilometers, and have NEVER spent this much money! I don't know where to begin. We've put new tires, new front wiper motor, numerous problems with the ABS, replaced the sensors for the ABS along with all new wires. We've had to replace the rear bushings (both), transmission flush twice within 4,000 km (supposed to last 60,000??) new bearings, brakes, ball joints, there's a leak in the power steering... shall I go on... We have dropped about $5,000 into the thing, and now my engine light is flashing!!!

General Comments:

This car has all the bells and whistles, great safety and is comfortable.

It has also put us against the wall with debt, and has been nothing put a pain to have to keep fixing.

I would stay away from them altogether, unless you have an extended warranty!!!

It's too bad, it's a great looking vehicle, but that's about it!!

2002 Buick Rendezvous CX from North America

Summary:

Best all-around vehicle for mileage, safety, comfort, style and convenience

General Comments:

Excellent vehicle in an accident. Sustained on-coming hit by a transport truck. Air bags worked. Car collapsed in a way that appears to have saved life of man (my husband) driving. Car written off by insurance company. Without hesitation, he wants another Rendezvous.
