Hi, I'm from Sri Lanka.. I bought a triptonic Chery QQ recently, which has done 43,000 in Singapore. It still seems to be okay. Only thing I noticed so far is that it flashes a red warning light - a cog wheel with an exclamation mark inside appears after driving for a while. Can anybody let me know what that means... Could not get hold of a manual to refer to yet. Thanks...

Shafee.

That warning light suggests that there may be a problem with your QQ's transmission, you should have it checked ASAP.

Hello everyone, I am planning to get a brand new Chery QQ 0.L triptonic. What's your suggestion, please help me out.

Thank You

Bangladesh.

Hi all owners, I have a nice Chery QQ auto transmission, but I suffered a shaking and strange moves when I release the accelerator while suddenly slowing from high speed. The bad service (non skilled personnel) of the dealer failed to fix the problem. I feel it as if the ABS is touching the brake system frequently. Please help me to avoid visiting our dealer with their miserable queues. Some owners say it may be caused by my fuel filter.

My Chery QQ 0.8 won't start. Hazard light blinks continuously, power window does not work, please tell me what to do.

Try putting down the handbrake.

Please help... I am an inexperienced driver who just bought QQ recently. I am fine with the QQ size and brand except:

1. Pressing the accelerator after a stop will produce a very loud sound. I was so afraid that parts of the engine will drop off. Can someone please advise me on the technique use to control my auto QQ car well?

2. The brake pedal is in a position such that it is too high up for the heel to rest on the floor. I am planning to get an additional pedal accessories as add ons.

3. During the parking moment, in reverse position, the accelerator seems to be unresponsive, and when I step harder, it suddenly speeds off.

This QQ is a gift from my husband and I really love it so much. Please help on these issues, to help me be a good driver for my princessQQ.

If the car cannot start and the security light keeps blinking you have probably triggered the security alarm. Just press the lock and unlock button on the key to disengage it. I encounter this problem whenever I use the key to directly unlock the door. Using the unlock button on the key to unlock the door will avoid this problem.

Hey friend! To solve the problem you've got.

1. Change the transmission oil.

2. Check all filters.

3. Check your car's brake system.

Check your QQ braking system properly.

Yup, I found that this is the most appropriate comment.

The Chery QQ is not a bad car at all, but think twice prior to deciding whether you are going to keep it for a long time.

I am 48 years old and from Indonesia, and was a mechanic for heavy equipment.

I found out that since Chery was an OEM for the GM group, then it's very easy to find interchangeable parts from the GM family (Chevrolet, Suzuki, Daewoo, Maruti etc). Disc clutch assembly is identical to the Suzuki Wagon R or Maruti Zen, headlights from Daewoo Matiz/Spark, brake pads from Suzuki ST 100, reverse switch from Chevy Aveo and many others.

It is strongly recommended to replace the worn out parts by your own bare hands. Never trust the dealer.

I have a QQ, newly bought at 2009, now it gains 50K+ km, still working very well. Now I seldom drove it, but it's still there in my carport, waiting for any instruction to go.

It is not a bad car, I mean it.

Hi Indonesia mechanic friend. I read your comment on the QQ. I own a QQ AMT model, which has been giving me problems since 2009. That is after using for 3 years, the problem started. The little red gear light pops up and the gear cannot shift. All the while it stays in 1 & 2, and runs until it stops. Later I push the car to one side, and when I return to restart it, the engine will not crank anymore. We in Malaysia also do not have reliable technicians to fix the problem. Kindly provide your technical assistance to this problem and parts that may be available. Perhaps you may have OEM parts from the Chevrolet Spark that can be used for my AMT gearbox auto changer, available in Indonesia? Thanks, from Labuan Malaysia.

Hey... I am planning to buy a 2nd hand Chery QQ (2007), which has done approximately 450000 km. I am bit worried about the Tiptonic gearbox... Can someone please let me know how the car works? Is it reliable? My purpose is to get used to driving, and I hope to have this car for at least 2 years.

Hi Malaysian friend, I am very sorry for such a late response.

We don't have the AMT option for the Chery QQ in Indonesia, so I am afraid I don't have things to share with you. However, I guess the problem came from the steel CVT belt that is already wearing out.

I wish I could do more to help about details of the interchangeable parts, since I believe such parts are available from the aftermarket.

Hi, I have a Chery QQ 2008 model, with an automatic gear system. Recently I confronted a fault in the gear system. The gear cannot shift from 2 and above. The engine seems to be shaking. There's an engine signal displayed on the dashboard. Can anyone help me please?

Hi guys, I've got a. 1.1 Chery QQ 2008 model.

As I was driving, the car started to misfire. As I got home I noticed that it was only firing on 2 cylinders. As I checked which cylinders it was, the car switched off and never started, and now it's not firing on all four cylinders. I thought it was the coil, so I changed it, but it's still not firing. Mechanics have failed with this car. Could someone please help me, the car has been parked for about 3 months now.

I had a similar trouble last September. The engine rattles, and sounds like misfiring had happened.

The problem came from the ECU unit, placed under the A/C blower, right under the dashboard. Water leaked from the heater pipe that protrudes in the cabin from the engine, causing a short circuit in the ECU unit.

The solution is to plug the heater unit (I am in Indonesia, who needs the heater?). Then I went to a mechanic who specialized in fixing ECU units. Here it cost around IDR 600.000 (USD 55).

Having it fixed, the engine sounds steady and gained the normal power. It was not related to the ignition system (coil, plug, cord etc).

Hope this will help.

BTW, I am now reaching 100k on my trip meter. My car, a Chery QQ 0.8, 2008, still works fine.

Regards.

I have the same problem with my QQ. The car would shake and rattle when decelerating, particularly when you press on the brakes. It feels like the car is running out of gas.

I brought it to the service center, and the technician said that this is due to the speed sensor calibration. He brought out a computer and ran a diagnostic program, and indeed the speed sensor error came out. He reset this (using the same computer) and the car runs smoothly.

I ask him what causes this, and one possible cause he mentioned is that the speed sensor de-calibrates if the electricity is removed; that happens during a battery change. The best solution then is to have the unit be brought to a Chery service center after every battery change should you feel the same "shaking during deceleration" issue.

Hope this helps.
