Brake pads had to be replaced & rotors turned - at 36k miles - which seems too early for this to have been needed.
If I go through standing water/heavy rain, then I can count on the alarm section of horn to get totally muffled. Takes about 2 months to dry out. This is an ongoing quirk.
We have had this car over 3 years; purchased it new. There have been no major problems to deal with, or even many small problems. It has been a joy to drive and own. Plans are to keep it for many, many more years.
I personally love everything about my car:
Exterior/Interior appearance
Comfortable
Lots of extras that came standard
Reliable
Decent gas mileage
All the positive comments I receive
Stress-release that comes from driving top down - & the top is cake to drop.
Small things that do bug me are:
See above about the alarm horn
Cup Holders are not a good size.
I just bought my 98 Sebring Limited. So far I love it. Bought it used with only 9k miles on it for being 3 years old. I broke it in pretty well this summer. However, I do notice the brakes squeak badly, and my top has unsnapped. Also, if my fuel level is low, she has a difficult time starting. Then again, I don't know how exactly the first owner treated her. She sure doesn't look mistreated.
I am a 16 year old teenager, and I have just found out that the Chrysler Sebring Convertible is the nicest, inexpensive convertible that I've seen, I am planning on getting one ASAP, around here, in REALLY good shape, with low miles and fully loaded they run around $11,000. Now my guess is that because they new body style came out, that is why they are making these cars so inexpensive. Is that the only reason?
I have a red 1998 Sebring Convertible that I purchased new in 1997. No problems until recently. At 55,000 miles I had to replace the blower motor. At 56.000 miles I had to replace the plug wires and distributor, did the plugs then also. At 56,500 miles I had to replace the starter motor, (kept blowing 20 amp fuses). Rear window defroster solder keeps breaking and I keep reglueing it. Cup holders are inadequate for large drinks. No rear cup holders. Overall a great car with the exception of the above.
