2002 Ford Mustang Base review from North America
"Excellent value! Unbeatable deal"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rear window weather stripping came loose and rear side window weather stripping was "in" too far.
General comments?
This car is the best value of all cars on the market for year 2002. I shopped around for my wife for over a year because she refused to decide, so after being familiar with what was available it was my turn and my choices for sports cars were based on many factors, but for $16,000 you can't beat a base model Mustang, which is all power, key-less entry and 16 inch alloy wheels.
It was a great car for its price and no one compared to the value. I bought it for the price and value, and considered the bad reputation of Fords an opportunity cost for buying a $16,000 Mustang, but so far I'm very pleased with what I have.
The only thing that has disappointed me is the gas mileage. If you're considering a v6 for that reason, get the GT instead; they use the same amount in the city.
With rebates and discounts, I bought mine with an automatic for less than the invoice price of a 5 speed.
Great value, comfy and spunky.
