First 6000 miles were a nightmare with the car back to the garage for most of the first week due to heater coil solenoids sticking open and flattening battery. Three door locks were replaced; speedo and its replacement were reading 25% too high; at least 3 separate rain leaks into the car. I was about to demand a replacement.
The car has (touch wood and fingers crossed!) settled down. A 3000 mile continental trip freed the engine etc and, now at 17000 miles, it performs really well. Acceleration is very good, pulling power is phenomenal and we like the diesel sound and shudder. 4WD has been very useful at times. Comfort on 1000 mile jaunts is superb. No more piles and sore backs and the high view point is instructive in several ways! The dealer has been superb.
Right rear door hinge was replaced.
Transmission mount bolts came loose, needed to be securing by the dealer.
Fog lamps not working, again.
Button on emergency brake handle broke.
Did you have any problems with the front axles?
Saw your question. I have a Cherokee 2.5 from 1990, the front axles are due to be changed at 205,000 km.

My plastic handbrake button broke also and so did the plastic button on the radio stereo control.
My main concern is that I have trouble dis engaging 4WD. This has cost me one front diff so far.
A bit heavy on fuel in the city, but 24mpg country.
Otherwise, I love the car and would have to say It's close to being the best I have had yet.
