1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited from North America

Summary:

Complete and utter piece of junk!

Faults:

We had trouble with the oxygen sensor several times. All kinds of trouble with the transmission slipping. And we went through 3 air conditioning evaporator coils.

I think I spent more time driving to and from the dealer than anywhere else in the 2 years we owned the wretched thing.

There were many days the Jeep just died in morning rush hour traffic or just wouldn't start after work.

General Comments:

When this car ran (which wasn't often) it felt great. But even that wasn't enough to keep me from despising it.

I will never EVER buy another vehicle from Jeep or Chrysler as long as I live. This car was a complete lemon and neither the dealer we bought it from, nor the other 2 local Jeep dealers would help us. They even tried to weasel out of taking care of recalls. I HATED this car. And to think, we bought it for a safe, reliable snow vehicle.

A new Jeep under warranty and they WON'T Cover the peeling paint problem? What did you do to the car during those 7,000 miles?

According to the information you provided you bought a two year old Jeep with 15,000 miles on it. I have gone 203,000 in the same car I bought new with none of the problems you have had. Might I suggest that you, 'Were Taken', when you were sold the vehicle. If the tranny is slipping my guess is the odometer was rolled back, and the first owner (s) beat the livin' Krap outta the thing, then sold it to you! Was this a 'Certfied Pre-Owned'?

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 5.2 V8 from North America

Faults:

Brake caliper fried at 22k miles and tranny gone for good at 44K!

General Comments:

Dealer told me to go to hell for trying to get either problem fixed under warranty. They said I abused the thing. Oh well, like I'll be buying a Jeep again (never ever off road and pampered like a baby). PS. Jeep Grand Cherokee transmissions are known for failing and there is a major investigation going on because of this. Stay tuned.

I would just like to add that I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I have just 100,000 miles with rough usage off-road, tranny is still in good shape, only major problems I've had is with the brakes.

Mine has 118,000 - tranny is fine, everything is like new.

This is an awesome Wisconsin snow machine.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD V-6 from North America

Faults:

Battery needs annual replacement due to mysterious drain. Otherwise, trouble free at 50,000 miles 6/1999.

General Comments:

This is my 4th Jeep and by far the best. Will replace it next year with a Grand Cherokee Laredo.
