2004 Nissan Maxima SE V6 from North America

Faults:

I own a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE, 70,000 miles.

Had trouble with hard down shifting while braking 5 months after I brought it. Had taken it into the dealer several times while under warranty, and no one could seem to catch the problem without having the check engine light on to give them a code. I paid out of my pocket several DIAG. testings for them to tell me that nothing was going wrong with my transmission. 2 months later after the warranty expired, took it to another mechanic, and he stated that my trans was completely gone. Nissan needs to really check into some of the complaints that 2004 Nissan owners are having.

General Comments:

I also have a 1996 Nissan Maxima. I have never experienced any problems with it whatsoever. So I think by now, and with other comments like mine, they should have by now considered having a recall on the 2004.

Faults:

My car is jerking in between gears from first to second and from third to fourth, and now it won't even go into gear.

I purchased my car exactly a year and 3 months ago. When I got the car, it had 76,000 miles on it and even then I was having problems. My struts are bad, my front driver's side window goes up and down when it wants to. I use to be a big fan of Nissan, but now I don't even like looking at my own car.

Now my car is in the shop because it won't go in and out of gear, and right now my mechanic is telling me it's my transmission, and he quoted me at $3000 that I don't have, but I still have to pay the car payment; this is BS!!!

And if there's anyone out there that wants to go ahead and put Nissan in their place because they're not with us... I'm pushing (MSNBC) feel free to call me at 203-901-3322. My name is Eric and let's try to get what we deserve, and that's our money or our cars back...

Summary:

Average

Faults:

Well, I quess I'm not the only one with transmission problems.

Bought in 04 a brand new 04 Maxima for around 28000. It has been a huge headache. Everything went wrong with it. From head lights, to a recall on the tires, to a recall on the rear subframe, and then at 31,000 miles my transmission goes out. Two dealers said nothing is wrong with it. Thank God for a good technician. He found the problem and now knock on wood it has 90,000 miles and is running great.

The last two years of this car has been good. The first three years was a nightmare. Nissan used to make a great car. Will never buy a Nissan again.

I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima and I am having the same jerking with my car. I bought it just one year ago. I honestly love my car but I am very frustrated with this. I have never thought I would have this kind of trouble. Nissan should do something about this with the number of posts that have been made on this site. I am so glad I found it and can relate to what is going on.

I hope someone hears us and helps!!

Transmission is going bad... jerking bad!

General Comments:

I am so glad to know there are others who are having the exact same problem with their '04 Maximas. Thought I just had a lemon!

I never know when it will start jerking. Does it bad when I've been driving around town a lot. Been noticing it for a year now.

Has ANYONE gotten anywhere with this issue? And to top it off, just purchased an extended warranty and think they might try to rip me off too!!!
