2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 SC/T Ram Air 3.4 V6 from North America

Summary:

Awesome Car

Faults:

Needed new front brake pads at 25,000 miles.

General Comments:

With all bias toward GM aside, I still love this car. It's a fully loaded GT1 coupe with the SC/T appearance package painted in bright red. I always get looks wherever I take this car.

Performance and handling are on par for a car labeled 'GT'. Engine gets it up to speed quickly, and the four wheel disc breaks get it to stop just a quick.

Even though it needs new pads every 25,000 miles and new rotors every 50,000 miles, its tolerable considering the pads are $20 and the rotors are $60/pair.

Anyone that complains about the build quality must have been expecting to get $48,000 BMW quality in a $23,000 GM car. Face it guys, for the price of these cars the build quality is pretty damn good.

Had my '97 GASE for 170,000 miles and I'm hoping to take this one to that and beyond.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 3.4L V6 from North America

Summary:

Beautiful, sporty, fast, and affordable!

Faults:

The stock CD-player is very sensitive to slightly scratched CD's.

One of the air conditioning vent balls will turn to the side when taking moderate turns.

General Comments:

This is a beautiful car, very sporty, and fast.

The car is roomy enough for 4 adults and the seats are very comfortable.

The ride is very smooth at all speeds.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am SEI V6 from North America

Summary:

Gets lots of looks and lots of comments of "Nice Car"

Faults:

Nothing has really gone wrong with this car, except my rotors warped at 32,000 kilometres.

The rear doors leaked dust, mud and water (when I washed it) but that was fixed and actually it came from the factory with the doors not on right because I contacted the previous owner, and they said they had the same problem with the doors.

Power seat went, was replaced last week.

When braking occasionally the car feels like it's jerking.

When on delay, wipers stop in the middle of the windshield, dealer has fixed them twice. Has to go back again for same problem.

General Comments:

I am very happy with the car, other than the little problems it's had, like what car hasn't had it's own share of problems. For awhile, I was considering getting rid of it as I thought I had a lemon, but now it's OK. I love the car for it's looks, and speed. Mine is Polo Green metallic, with the Pewter interior, and it looks really sharp. I love it!

I own a bright red 2001 SE-1 in absolute mint condition. I have never had the first hint of ANY kind of problem with it.

It is fast, quiet, gets awesome mileage, and rides very smoothly. I recently came out of a restaurant and a gentleman getting into a BMW next to me said "That is an AWESOME-looking car!!" I was VERY flattered.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.4L Ram Air from North America

Summary:

Definitely a head turner

Faults:

While still at the dealership, drivers side window would not go up all the way. Dealer fixed under warranty.

While on the test drive, we heard a loud humming noise from the rear of the car. Service department drove and found nothing wrong. Haven't had any problems since.

Passenger seat had been sewn up at one of the seams, and it's tearing again.

Replaced front brakes and rotors at 40,000 miles.

Chrome exhaust tips are rusting and look terrible. I'll have to replace them soon.

General Comments:

I Love this car!!! I loved my 1996 Grand Am GT sedan, and decided to move up to a 2003 Grand Am GT coupe.

Grand Am's are stylish, fast, and affordable.

When I drove it off the dealers lot everyone was turning their heads and staring at the car, and they still do!!

The interior is also impressive. The steering wheel is nice and I love the glow of the red interior dash lights. The only thing I don't like are the air vents. There are too many in the middle, I liked my '96 vents better.

I also love the 16" rims. The Eagle RS/A tires don't do very well on snow or ice. It makes me nervous in the winter.

I drive 80 miles a day round trip, and more on the weekends. The Grand Am is a great high-mileage car.

The ram air engine is impressive, a huge improvement over my old 4-cylinder. I can blow everyone away on the highway!

Buy the extended warranty because repairs can get very expensive!

I plan to put on new mirrors, Grand Am splash guards, 3rd brake light decal, new exhaust tips, and possibly tint the windows.

It's a very cute and fast car- worth the money!!!

I definitely agree this is a great car for long drives. Its comfortable and has a great stock sound system in it. Its highway mileage is also pretty good for a V6.
