2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 3.4L V6 from North America

Summary:

A nice first car

Faults:

Plastic trim near the door started to fall off, parking brake light would not turn off when the car was turned off, car stalled once in a parking garage, and the original dealership that I bought the car from put on the wrong type of wheel nuts to hold the wheels on, so when it came time for a tire rotation, the dealership that I changed to discovered the problem, because they had a hard time to remove the nuts, it had to be drilled out. Plastic trim was fixed, the issue with the parking brake light and stalling was fixed with a new computer for the car, and the wheel nuts issue was fixed and replaced. All of these problems were fixed by my current dealer.

General Comments:

I admit that this car had a few problems when I bought it brand new, but when I tried to get the Pontiac dealer to fix it (where I originally bought it), they refused. So I changed to another Pontiac dealership, they fixed all the problems, and therefore have earned my business. I never service my car anywhere else. Even something as small as an oil change, I only take it to this dealer. The car has fast acceleration, great passing power, and looks great. It's good as a highway cruiser (it's great on gas there), but the fuel economy for city driving is not the best. I have no problems outrunning or outgunning your common Civic.

Just an update of my car listed above, it's coming up to 31,000km, and I had to take it to the dealer, as I was hearing a groaning noise from the struts... dealer fixed it no problem. Other than that, no problems, just the regular oil changes, maintenance etc. Car is still purring like a kitten.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 3.4 from North America

Summary:

A real head turner

Faults:

Sunroof likes to close on its own, that's when it decides to work at all.

General Comments:

The car is a 30th anniversary GT1 with every option. It has good top end power, but lacks coming off the line power without after market mods. The front brakes are starting to wear and the tires, which are 16 inch Eagles, are wearing badly.

Would have liked to see a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission offered.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.4 from North America

Summary:

Fun, fast, reliable, affordable, what more could you want?

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this car.

General Comments:

This car is a lot of fun to drive.

Was able to fit an adult mountain bike in the trunk with one rear seat down and close the trunk. Not possible with my Buick Regal.

Handles great and has lots of power.

My thirteen year old son loves it.

It gets lots of looks.

The eight speaker stereo system is a real bonus.

I've owned two mustangs in the past and neither compares to the handling of this car.

I just love it.

Just wait until your security system starts to act up. I have had my 99 grand am for three months and on week. Just yesterday it would not start and then I noticed that blinking security light on the dash. I have investigated to find that this is a common problem with these otherwise great cars. The worst part about this is my warranty expired last week.

Good luck.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE 6 cylinder. from North America

Summary:

I love my grand am!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

I really love this car!

It handles great and I very comfortable.

The only problem I have is that is uses more gas than my last car! But in upgrading from a 4- cyl to a 6 cyl that can be expected.

This car is sporty, classy and comfortable!

2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.4 V6 Ram Air from North America

Summary:

This car is very sporty, fast, and a very beautiful car to look at

Faults:

I have owned this vehicle for only 2 months, but I have driven it alot. The only thing that has gone wrong with this vehicle so far is that the oil is so expensive.

General Comments:

I like this vehicle for it's looks mostly. It handles very well around sharp corners and stops on a dime. The throttle is a little slow, but for the most part GM has really done a great job.
