1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.4 from North America

Summary:

A reliable, comfortable, high speed demon

Faults:

So far, the only wrong with the car is nothing (knock on wood). I hope that it will stay this way.

The only problem I have encountered is they put the power outlet in the most annoying place for plugging in my black light for night crusing, I have to work on finding a better way to hook it up.

General Comments:

This car has amazing pick up, and great top end speed. I find that the shifting between 1st and 2nd gear is a little sluggish (up to 30k), but then, heads up! Great acceleration after that.

The car has great ability to maintain speed through curves, and great overall handling. I found the interior lacking in excitement, so a black light and some bass sensitive neon green lights spruce it up a little bit.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP from North America

Summary:

Great car up until 76,000!

Faults:

Normal wear/tear on the car, replaced brakes/rotors at 50,000 with new tires. Battery was replaced in 2000!

Around 70,00 replaced ALL hoses for the 2nd time! All fluids - coolant/power steering, etc. No problems.

Since I've hit 76,000 NOTHING, but problems! Driving/timing belt were replaced. Then power steering went, and was replaced. Since driving/timing belt, does not run smooth! Now, I have a slight humming in the engine, and "service engine soon"! Pontiac dealership is loving me these days!

General Comments:

Prior to hitting 76,000 miles - the car has been FANTASTIC! Ran/drives very well. Beautiful car and drives great! This has been my all time favorite car, up until 76,000 miles. Would like to keep it at least for 100,000 miles. Not sure If I will purchase another Grand Prix!

I take VERY good care of the car. For a 95, it looks very good! Just wish not so many problems!

I've just bought my GTP a week ago it's a 95 with 211,000kms runs like it was new.

12th Apr 2006, 11:23

I bought my GTP and have only had 2 problems - one with the check engine light, which all we had to do is get a new EGR valve, and the other was a lot bigger, the motor started to leak oil and the mechanic thought it was the head gaskets, so we paid to have it fixed, but it still leaks. It may be a loose screw on the oil pan. Any ideas?

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix gtp 3.40dohc from North America

Summary:

This is the best car I've ever owned

Faults:

The only thing that went wrong with my pontiac was the fuel pump went at 49000 miles.

It was tuned up at 27000 miles and it runs great.

General Comments:

I have no problems with the acceleration it responds when you hit the pedal.

I think it is a very comfortable ride.

I really don't like the leather in the winter and it gets warm in the summer, but with the moonroof it stays pretty cool inside.
