Summary:

Best car I ever had, wouldn't trade it for the world!

Faults:

Replaced first engine at 160,000 miles. Replaced first transmission at 210,000 miles. wheels bearings at 200,00 miles, radiator at 100,000 and 200,000 miles. C.V. axle replaced at 110,000 miles. other than that, just normal wear and tear.

General Comments:

I run this car like it was a race car. It has had a very hard life. In races, I have beaten Mustang GTs, Camaro Z-28s, and all kinds of rice burners. I get rubber in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears on a regular basis. It handles better than a Corvette in the neighborhood and accelerates from 0 - 60 just as well.

I just started modifying the engine and it screams. I have added high performance coil packs, K & N air filter, iridium spark plugs, 2 spiral maxes, ported and polished intake manifold and plenum. From 0 - 60 I'm running about 4.2!

I am a small person. I find the cabin cozy and extremely convenient. Everything is in reach.

I love this car! I wish I could find another one. It is safe, reliable. This is something I would trust my child in. As far as wet roads, I couldn't imagine finding a safer car. This car has saved my life more than once.

I too have a Pontiac Sunbird, 3.1-liter V6, 90,000 miles and it runs beautifully. It does everything you say it does, but the one bad thing is that the window seal is starting to crack, but other than that it loves to rip up the road.

I am looking for photos of a Pontiac teal Sunbird convertible. I have 1994 white Sunbird convertible with white leather seats.

I'd like to to paint it Teal with sunspot metalic flecs. This car has a hipster feel to it. I think the design of the Firebird is inferior to the design of a Sunbird. Once, if you bought a used Sunbird you had your Ged. Now, the Sunbird exhibits the cool affect of a master's thesis on wheels.

I hope to hear from you. Living in The Age of The Almighty Sunbird.

Peace to love,

Justin.

Summary:

Awesome First Car!

Faults:

The Cigarette lighter never worked, replaced it with 4 fuses then gave up.

The Anti-lock brakes light would come on for no reason.

Replaced Brakes.

One Speaker Blew a few days after I purchased the car. (My Fault)

Rust around The Wheels. This was minor and easy to fix.

General Comments:

This was my first car, it was not the car I wanted, but my dad told me it was a reliable car. After a month or two when I got alright at driving standard I loved the car. It was a sporty car that got me from point A to B and was cheap on gas.

I had no major problems with my 1994 Sunbird. It was a great car and I am glad my dad talked me into buying it. It didn’t have a lot of power or accelerate very quickly, but it wasn’t a turtle either. I get a lot of snow where I live and the car was UNREAL in the snow, even better than my moms 2001 Grand Am. I got in a bad accident about 2 months ago, I hit ice and found my self in a head on collusion. I have to say that I take total blame for this accident, there was nothing wrong with my car. One of my friends got into a small fender-bender with her 2001 Sunfire GT and it looks like she was in a worse accident then I was. So you can tell that the Sunbird is a heavy car that is well built.

Over all my sunbird was an awesome car and I have no regrets buying it. I will never be able to find another car like that one… that’s for sure!!!

To fix the cigarette outlet, you have to take off the molding around it and reconnect the wire harness.
