"Great car, but very high maintenance"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well guys, I'm have a few issues with my 2000 Pontiac Sunfire. Engine light keeps coming back on, after the fuel cap been clean and replaced, and computer been reset. Any suggestion to what I'm dealing with here! Another thing- few days ago, I attempt to unlock my car with the remote (4 buttons) which didn't even unlock it, so I had to use the key- thinking the battery on the remote is dead! toasted! so I replaced it, thinking that should do the job! well NO! now when I attempt to lock the car with the remote, it doesn't lock any of the doors, but it would set off the horn (armed) when you try to unlock the vehicle, only the driver side unlocks, but not the rest of them. Do you think it's a relay problem or something else? I'm running out of option and I'm ready to spend some serious cash for the an auto shop to take a look at it! If anyone runs into the same problem and have a solution for me or even someone know what I'm dealing with, please let me know ASAP @ jdykstra77@comcast.net... Thanks.

I had the same problem. It's a huge electrical issue. A few things every other month will go out.

My key remote eventually only would unlock the passenger door, and when I would use the key, even to open the trunk, the alarm goes off.

I hate to tell you, but that's just the beginning,
