This car is easy and fun to drive. My kids sometimes complain the rear seats are too hard for extended drives.

At 89,000 miles, my car's exhaust fell out, and the dealer said it was on the point of catching fire. They claimed that it had been hit on something, but my adjuster said that there was absolutely no evidence of any such thing, and that it appeared that the welding had come loose. 860 dollars to repair, and am currently renting a car. They would also not give loaner to help out.

I will never buy another Saturn. After your warranty is out, so are you.

2004 Saturn VUE from North America

Summary:

We do not appreciate the run around and are very wary of the quality of craftsmanship

Faults:

The rear differential extremely noisy!

The fan for the vent/air conditioner will not turn off.

General Comments:

We bought our 2004 Saturn V-6 AWD VUE and have had the entire rear differential replaced and that stopped the noise for about a month or two. Now it is back louder than ever.

Also, today I started the car after church and turned on the AC on full blast. It would not turn off, so I thought maybe it was a broken knob until I turned off my car, pulled the key out of the ignition and the blower was still on. I had to remove the fuse to get it to stop.

We are getting frustrated and after reading this message board I see there are many with this unfix-able noise issue in the rear differential. What is going on? Are they waiting until our warranties expire?

2004 Saturn VUE from North America

Summary:

A perfect family, multi use vehicle

Faults:

It was the best purchase we could have made, the performance, space and price were great.

The guarantee that we were offered was amazing. The only thing I don't like on the car is that the middle back shoulder best does not lock as quickly as the other four belts, my dealer will be checking it.

I was also disappointed with the price of the automatic starter, because of the anti-theft systems makes the price more by at least 60 dollars.

General Comments:

Compared to my previous vehicle, the Daewoo Lanos 2000, which was the worst vehicle ever, besides the fact that the company went belly-up, we had no service, the accessories that were paid for when the lease was signed where never added or reemboursed to us. The vehicle caught fire in the electrical box (we assume, because we never got the true reason)

NEVER buy a Daewoo...

2004 Saturn VUE Sport Package from North America

Summary:

I wish I did my research before buying

Faults:

The maintenance lights keep blinking, especially the airbag light. Even after the dealer supposedly fixed the problem, 2 months later, it happened again.

The driver seat broke.

The rear view mirror fell off for no apparent reason.

General Comments:

The dealer ripped me off. I didn't do my research before walking into the dealership and they talked me into getting the worthless "sport" package. I ended up paying $ 24,998 out the door, then found out that my co-worker got the exact same car for $ 23,400 out the door.

When I went into the dealership to tell them about the problems with the car, they acted like this was an isolated case. I find out on the Internet that many others have the same problems.

2004 Saturn VUE VTi from North America

Summary:

A huge disappointment

Faults:

From day one, my Vue made noises. First, it sounded like the entire car was shaking and being taking up in a tornado. I went to the dealership and they said the antenna was loose. Then about a month later, I started hearing noises that seemed to have come from the front air vent. The first few times I took it in, the service department said they didn't know what the noise was and put some extra padding in the instrument panel. The noise got worse, so I called Customer Service in TN. I ended up taking the car back to the dealer about 4 times in a 3 week period. They replaced the suspension, steering column, and cleaned out the middle air vent. Two months later, the noises are still there. Along with the noise from the driver's side window that they supposedly fixed last time I was there.

General Comments:

I honestly think the noises in this car are going to drive me insane. I'm extremely disappointed in the Vue, especially since I loved my Saturn SL1. I will never buy another Saturn again, especially since the Customer Service Department is not very understanding or helpful.
