When the car was 3 months old I begin to have trouble. It would hesitate while in traffic. It now dies when driving in stop and go traffic. It will not shift into gear and the check engine and battery light come on. It has been in 6 times for the problem. They fixed something with the transmission the first two times. Now they have fixed the gas pump and a wiring that was not grounded. I think they are pulling at straws now. One week later it occurred again. This has been going on for a year and a half. Once the vehicle cools down for about 30 min. it will start again. Is anyone else having this problem?
Saturn needs to stand by its products. What happened to its wonderful customer service reputation.
When I contacted the corporation they told me:1) how do we know it really happens. 2) if you don't like the service take it elsewhere. Not much help from them.
How can they justify letting someone drive off in a vehicle that is so unreliable and unsafe?
Do not call Saturn's customer service - send a letter to GM and call them - stay on top of them - and keep all of your records.
GM just invested several thousands dollars into Saturn for 2006; 2007 - they will want to hear what you have to say.
I work at a Saturn Dealership. We DO stand by our products 100%. Here's what you can do:
1. get the service manager to print a copy of your service history.
2. make an appointment to speak with their GM
He/she SHOULD help you out to work toward replacing your vehicle.
I have also had this problem with my 2003 Saturn Vue and the computer sensor had to be replaced. Maybe that is your problem also. The dealership knew exactly what it was and replaced it right away.
IF you have a VTI transmission I would guess it explains your stalling and not going into gear. The transmission is a lemon and Saturn knows it. We just had to have ours replaced in July after 40K miles. The Trans is covered 100 % if you have the VTI which I would guess you have.
Mine does nearly the same thing. I have a 95 Saturn, and, when I start it the engine stalls. When I am in stop and go traffic, the check engine light will come on. I also have trouble shifting. I asked the dealer to test the computer -- if I shut the engine off and restart it, I am resetting the codes. It runs fine after doing so.
The dealer further told me that the tempature senor was faulty, and the connector was corroded. He also said that it would make it stop having the shifting problems. It is still happening..
Next to killing Oldsmobile, Saturn was the biggest blunder
that GM has made in the last quarter century.
Well if you had started to have problems with the VUE after only 3 months the smart thing would have been to take it back to the retailer and have it checked out. This is your problem now, the retailer would have fixed the VUE under warranty.
SO far I have owned two Saturn Vues and have had no such problem with either one of them maybe you bought a LEMON.
Saturn is the biggest blunder? I have had my 1999 Saturn since the day it was born and I now have over 110,000 miles on it and have virtually done no maintenance. It is unbelievable. Also, every problem that I have ever had, SATURN has done everything to fix it. Their service has been exceptional.
