1999 Toyota Camry LE review from North America
"Terrible, Unreliable, and gut wrenching seats"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The 99 Toyota Camry is horrible!!! My grandmother recently was at a store and the car was running perfectly normal. When she came out and started the car she heard a very loud bang and turned the car off right away. Well smoke was everywhere and she had it toed off and the whole engine's messed up now! At 62,000 miles something in the cylinder block got hit and shot through the hard steel causing oil to seep out Everywhere!!
The car's suspension is horrible and you feel every bump in the road.
There's an annoying road noise in the back seat that really stinks when on trips.
The brakes are way too sensitive.
There aren't enough features for the price you pay---no leather, no automatic things.
The seats are way too uncomfortable; yeah they're fine when you first get in, but couldn't Toyota soften them up a bit.
General comments?
The car runs good with plenty horses, but with an unexpected problem like that I have to let others know! Do Not Buy This Car! We took care of it-- changed the oil on time, spark plugs, belts, brakes, and air filters. My grandmother was not the least bit rough on this car (she drove 5 under the speed limit), and then for something like this to happen when she's 85, That's just horrible. If you want a good car I would go for a Buick, because of the comfortability, power, and bells+whistles, and size. Trust me and do not get a 99 Camry LE.
