1999 Ford Taurus LX review from North America
"One of the worst cars I've ever driven"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rotors warp every few thousand miles.
The windshield wipers turn on for no reason.
The heater core has been replaced several times.
The speedometer goes haywire.
The E-brake does not work.
Interior parts constantly snap off.
The rear end is light and slides when turning on dirt.
The engine will lose power for no apparent reason and then suddenly accelerate.
The key slot to open the trunk no longer works and the trunk can only be accessed by the "popper" in the dash.
The A/C worked too well when I got it and now it hardly works.
The gas gauge does not seem to work correctly.
There was a recall on the shocks because they may break and cause a crash, but Ford waited a year after informing me of the problem, to finally fix it.
The lights flash in the car at night unless the heat or A/C is on at night.
The lug bolts also snap off when changing the tire (Which is not supposed to happen).
General comments?
The car is comfortable to sit in, but is a horrible performer and has many issues as listed above. I strongly insist that you do not buy any ford... ever. None of these issues have ever been addressed by ford. If you want a good car, go to any GM company or Subaru.
