2001 Lincoln LS 3.9 from North America

Summary:

This car has been a nightmare

Faults:

With-in the year I have replaced three window regulators.

Right and left front wheel bearing, valve cover & gaskets, coil boots and grommets, spark plug, and ignition coils (all eight).

I have a noise in the rear of the vehicle when driving; it sounds like it's coming from the right rear window.

I replaced my water pump, and all of the hoses and housing became brittle and crumbled.

I replaced my serpentine belt.

Replaced both head lights, fogged up and dingy.

Continuously replacing tail lamps.

Air bag light stays on continuously.

Front end sound like it is rattling apart.

Exhaust scent, brake noise, smell of antifreeze.

Complete repairs on both sides upper and lower assembly (wheel).

And after all of this, my car is still not starting and quitting on me.

General Comments:

I too own a Lincoln LS 2001 V8 3.9.

I have replaced three.

I do appreciate all of your efforts, and I will follow whatever suggestions you may have to this nightmare.

I do wish in all of the blogs and forums that are being conducted, that at least one of us is a lawyer with enough knowledge to start a class action suit against Ford.

Ford is never going to step up to the plate, and correct the biggest mistake in their manufacturing history; they will not take the blame, nor the responsibility.

I will be one of the first to sign the petition if this is at all possible. I have tried and tried to get Ford to step up; but I am too small to fight this giant alone.

Thank you again.

Charles.

I totally agree with what you stated. This has been the worst car "I have ever owned". I will never purchase another FORD CAR. The trucks are OK, but the LINCOLN 2001 LS V8 WAS A BOMBER. When I took my car to have the windows repaired, there were 8 people ahead of me with the same PROBLEM. I was told this was COMMON for THIS CAR.

Only problem I have ever had is my dome light burnt out.

I love it. I wouldn't trade it for much of anything.

You must be very lucky to have gotten a good one. Almost everybody who has reviewed this car here hates it.

2001 Lincoln LS Special Limited Edition 3.9 V8 from North America

Summary:

Treat it rough and it will love you

Faults:

- 6 disk changer jammed and stopped working.

- Starting issue? Turn the key over, won't start, radio will work... wait about 10 seconds, turn key over again, will start up no problem.

- Foggy front headlight.

- Wood grain peeling up. I think it's from the sun constantly beating down on it.

General Comments:

I love it. Yes they do come with many problems. I have a solution for you though. Once it dies, drop a 572 in the beast and call it a day.

I never had plans to abuse my car. Was at a friends house one night when someone keyed my $3,000 pearl paint job down to the metal all around the car. Repainted it myself, done many engine mods, ran 107 octane through it... straight piped and cammed... much more.

I still have many issues, but it's so loud I've been ignoring them all for two years now.

When the car has acted up, I just drive the thing harder, and she likes it when you're doing about 145mph; she won't give any problems. Drive it rough, be mean, and it will be a good car for ya. =)

When it dies, I'm making it a luxury drag car, so no worries either way.

I beat the hell out of my 2001 LS V8 Sport, and it likes it too.
