1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE from North America - Comments

"Can't wait to try it out at my Uncle Don's Racetrack!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

So far the 1995 Grand Prix has been good to me, as well as I have been good to the Grand Prix! This car is in excellent condition considering the miles and that it was in a light crash before I got it. It has plenty of power, the transmission is a little sluggish in 1st and 2nd, after that you're in race gear!

But the 1994 Grand Prix I owned was an excellent car, has very high miles, had to replace the 440 automatic transmission after 1 week of ownership, but still a excellent running car, just have major problems with the brakes - I was going through brakes every 3 months and also had a rotor disappear once!

General comments?

1994 Grand Prix SE: Overall an excellent car, had the wiring to go bad in the transmission and caused the transmission to go bad from my neglect.

Had nightmares over my brakes, I bought new rotors and calipers for all 4 wheels and still went through brakes every 3 months.

The car has about 210,000 miles and still runs great with plenty of power and lots of comfort.

1995 Grand Prix SE: A wonderful car. This car is awesome like the 1994. I own this car, it also has a 3.1 V-6 engine with a 440 automatic transmission, both with the 2nd gear start feature. This car has a lot less miles, only has about 107,000, runs great so far, no problems!

Man I just bought a 96 Grand Prix and I am having the same problem. I put new bake brakes in cause I felt rubbin. But my dad says there is still a caliper problem. And my brake light won't go off!!! I don't know!

All I can say is good luck with your brakes... you might also try changing your brake lines there a lil expensive, but worth it last I knew there about $25. each sometimes they collapse and cause the calipers to stay pressed and burn your brakes off. you could also try after-market brake parts, but I would imagine there very costly... I still own the 95 grand prix and recently have purchased another 94 model just like the 95 but the 94 was for parts only. another thing with your brakes be sure to keep your wheels CLEAN at all times that also can cause caliper problems which can cause your brakes to burn off quick... I wish you luck :D
