1993 Dodge Shadow ES Convertible 2.5 from North America

Summary:

A quick and nimble steal of a car

Faults:

There is some parts of the top that are tearing.

The headlight covers are absolutely awful! I can barely see the road in front of me when my low beams are on, and when my high beams are on it looks like everyone else's low beams/

Replacing the left front fender was a major hassle.

General Comments:

The Shadow ES is quite quick for its small size and engine.

Comfortable seats make for a smoother ride, and being a tall person, it has decent leg and head room.

Handles very well, especially turns.

1993 Dodge Shadow 2 dr 2.2 from North America

Summary:

A great reliable bargin

Faults:

Well I broke the e-brake cable after pulling it up around a turn (my fault).

I lost the exhaust on a bumpy road while doing 140 km/h (my fault).

Oxygen sensor went for some unknown reason.

I went through a pair of tires in a weekend (my fault).

It started leaking oil after rally racing (my fault).

Head gasket went after racing one night (my fault), so I replaced that and redid all the valves and cleaned the head.

The radio broke unknown reasons, so I replaced it with a Kenwood CD player.

The wheel bearing went because they just wear out.

I blew a headlight, so I replaced that.

The hood started to peel a bit, so I painted it, and put on a nice flashy bug deflector, matching headlight covers and vent visors for my windows, then I tinted the windows and put on California style rims and 60 series tires, and wrote it off...

All in all, it was a great car, and I recommend it to anyone, and anything that mechanically broke on it was my fault. I loved that car, and it was a good car..

General Comments:

It was a good car.

Easy on gas.

Could take a beating.

Wasn't extremely fast.

The suspension was hard and stiff.

I felt comfortable in it, and I'm 5'8" and 180 lbs.

1993 Dodge Shadow ES 2.5L turbo from North America

Summary:

For the 2000 I paid, this little monster can't be beat!

Faults:

Exhaust leak when I bought the car.

Wiring problems with the right blinker and tail light. (have heard of others with the same problem)

General Comments:

Car handles like a champ, and its pretty damn quick, but it looses all its balls at 80 MPH!

Popped a new CD player in for the tape deck, replaced the stock speakers with high quality, tinted the windows, xenon headlights and its ready to go.

1993 Dodge Shadow 4 door sedan 2.2 litre from North America

Summary:

A great first car, would recommend this to anyone!!

Faults:

Very little has gone wrong with this car in the one and a half years I've owned it.

I've put about 32,000 kilometres on the car in that one and a half years I haven't had to put too much money into it.

I've had to replace the muffler, but that was my own fault. I back into a snow bank that was a mix of snow and ice.

I had to replace a ball joint a year after I bought it.

It'll be going to the garage next week to get a bushing in the front driver's side shock replaced.

Other than that the only money I've put in it is for regular oil changes.

General Comments:

This has been a great first car for me and I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in buying a cheaper car on the market.

When you do need parts for it, they're very cheap to obtain. Every garage carries Dodge parts!!

I drive this car hard. It's driven as if it's a race car and it hasn't let me down once.

It's a shame this car was replaced with the Dodge Neon. Dodge had a truly great car and they threw it away!!

I treat this car as if it's my baby, I challenge anyone to find an inch of rust on the body.

It looks GREAT for a 93 car. It's clean inside and out. Looks the same as the day I bought it.
