2001 Renault Laguna 1.6 review from UK and Ireland
"French comfort and style"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rattle from the boot area.
General comments?
Was a very comfy car on long journeys it was a real joy to be in. You could drive several hundred miles in a day and still feel relaxed at the end.
It was totally reliable, the only time it went to the dealer was for routine servicing. They sorted out the rattle from the boot and didn't even charge for it.
The 1.6 engine was economical and it was just adequate for the size of car. The 1.8 or 2.0 would be a lot nippier and would recommend that engine size to others if they're thinking of a Laguna.
It was a lovely looking car and still is - the shape doesn't seem to have aged like some other cars.
The card entry system was useful as it saved having a bunch of keys in your pocket.
