Engine sounds like it is going to blow up. Fan clutch or something has been wrong since six months after purchase. Dealer says fan works and repair is not covered by the extended warranty that I purchased. It has been roaring for about 72,000 miles. Am I the only one that likes a quiet ride?
Everything else seems great about the 2003 Envoy, except the engine noise.
It sounds as if you have a VERY unconcerned dealer.
We have a 2003 Envoy and the only problem we've had (in 65,000+ miles) is a glitch in the A/C ducting (blew only on the floor). We have a great dealer who immediately repaired it at no charge even though our warranty had expired.
Any time someone has a problem and the dealer refuses to fix it, go to the corporate offices or file a claim with the Better Business Bureau or state Attorney General's office.
Most people don't really press these issues as they should. NEVER allow a dealer to refuse to repair ANY legitimate problem, and make them justify NOT covering any item under an extended warranty IN WRITING. The law sets very strict requirements that require manufacturers to fix such issues while the car is under warranty.
